Back You are here: Home / Discover Puglia / Valle d'Itria Typical products of the della Valle d'Itria, what they are and how to find them Valle d'Itria Fairytale landscapes suddenly open up as you cross red soil countryside filled with olive trees and dry stone walls. These are the many villages that have made the Valle d'Itria one of the most sought-after places by international tourism. The first of these villages that we mention must be Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996 and a truly unique spectacle to see. Getting lost in the streets of the old village where instead of normal houses there are trulli, characteristic stone buildings, is an experience to be had at least once in a lifetime. But, besides Alberobello, there is Locorotondo, home to one of the most important Italian music festivals, the Locus, and characterized by a particular shape of its plan, a circle, which gives it its name. How can we forget Ostuni, the white city, a village located on a hill with a spectacular view of the Adriatic coast and with a labyrinth of streets that rise and fall between the white walls. There is also Martina Franca, a little further, in the province of Taranto, famous for the baroque that adorns its historic center. A visit is certainly also deserved by the Castellana Caves, one of the largest in Europe.
